Shimla: View from Metropole

These are a couple of the most amazing views of Shimla. If you are coming from chhota Shimla, you get down at Metropole, and start your ascent towards the Mall Road. Metropole is an old hotel, currently converted into a guest houst for government officials, if I remember correctly.

My Nana (maternal grandfather) owned The Metropole Hotel, Shimla pre-partition. His name was Mirza Hussain Abbas. He also owned Amritsar Steel Works and his father's construction company,"Mirza Bahdruddin & Sons" completed 6-7 hydro-electric stations and tunnels in Himachal Pradesh state. What men of fortitude, patience and wisdom lived in that era irrespective of faith, ethnicity, etc. Giants Among Men so to speak. Thank you for your post and I hope you reach out for further correspondence. All the best
